Pelagic Power AS is a company, which specialises in developing technology for the exploitation of wave energy. 

The company was founded as a cooperation between the Leskvik businesses Lycro, IDM and Leksvik Industrial Growth, as well as NTNU/TTO and Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk fkf. 

The company, which was founded December 31th 2005, is located in Vanvikan in the municipality of Leksvik in Nord-Trøndelag. The offices are on the premises of Leksvik Industrial Growth. 

In 2007, the company launched a small-scale site, testing the technology under real weather conditions, in a marine environment. The research site was placed outside of Lauvsnes in the municipality of Flatanger in Nord-Trøndelag.

The sea trials done by Pelagic Power revealed several points for improvement on the wave power concept. The company is now doing a “re-design phase”, combined with the introduction of a new concept combining wind- and wave power - W2-POWER.

W2-POWER
At the All Energy'09 in Aberdeen, Pelagic Power is presenting the brand new concept W2-POWER.

W2-POWER is a concept combining standard wind turbines and wave pumps in a cost efficiet, light semi-sub platform.

Combining wind and waves significantly extends the time window of energy delivery.
