Pelagic Power AS is a company, which specialises in developing technology for the exploitation of wave energy.
The company was founded as a cooperation between the Leskvik businesses Lycro, IDM and Leksvik Industrial Growth, as well as NTNU/TTO and Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk fkf.
The company is located in Vanvikan in the municipality of Leksvik in Nord-Trøndelag. The offices are on the premises of Leksvik Industrial Growth.
In 2007, the company launched a small-scale site, testing the technology under real weather conditions, in a marine environment. The research site was placed outside of Lauvsnes in the municipality of Flatanger in Nord-Trøndelag.

The company was established December 31st 2005 by Lycro AS, Nord-Trøndelag Elektrisitetsverk fkf, NTNU Technology Transfer AS, Innovative Developement and Marketing AS and Leksvik Industriell Vekst AS.
The technology is developed in cooperation with local industry and NTNU. The first prototype tests were carried out in the summer and autumn of 2005. The goal is for a full-scale pilot site to be installed in the course of 2009.
The total costs for developing the technology so far sum up to 10 million NOK, financed by the owners, Enova, Skattefunn, and Innovation Norway.
The company’s vision is to design, develop and deliver complete wave energy power plants to energy companies (entrepreneurs). The company will tie itself to other distributors providing generators and turbines, pumps and buoys. The company will also seek to provide maintenance for the sites.
